The R152a HFC has 0 ozone depletion potential, low global warming potential and in some applications can be used as a more environmentally friendly alternative to the R134a. It is commonly used as a propellant for aerosol sprays, gas duster products and in some XPS foams.
The R152a has similar thermodynamic properties as the R134a and offers even higher cooling performance and energy efficiency. Existing R134a components, materials and lubricants can be used for R152a systems.
Despite the fact that the it is significantly less harmful to the environment than its alternatives, concerns regarding its flammability have limited R152a usage.
