The R452a is a hydrofluoro-olefin (HFO) based, non-ozone depleting refrigerant with a low global warming potential. It is a suitable replacement for the R404a and R507a refrigerants in positive displacement, direct expansion systems used for commercial, industrial and transport refrigeration in low and medium temperature applications.
The R452a provides low-cost, easy retrofit from R404a and R507a existing equipment, it is compatible with commonly used lubricants and offers similar energy efficiency, discharge temperatures and mass flow rate of the former mentioned refrigerants with improved environmental properties.
